Bibliophile specializing in book design

Books! They’re not only objects that relay information and ideas, but they also create a personal interactive experience. And I’m wild about the role I have as a designer to help create that experience. Give me a multi-page document any day of the week, and I’m in design heaven!

I am a self-professed bibliophile and typography enthusiast dedicated to book design. After a decade of designing books in-house at trade and educational publishers, I embarked upon the freelance side in 2015. And ever since, I’ve been thrilled to design a variety of book projects for a variety of audiences! My experience range includes covers and interiors; straightforward designs and intricate designs; design samples and complex or graphic-heavy layout/comp; providing design specs for production as well as delivering clean template files and final print-ready files — and I’m always excited to take on a new book design opportunity.

Book designer by day, picture draw-er also by day.

Drawing has always been a prevalent activity in my life, and picture-making is my favorite mode of communication. I enjoy creating personal projects where I can play around with content and techniques, and I’m always delighted to collaborate with others on book illustrations and maps! Much of my personal work can be found here.
